My son is almost 3.5 and he LOVES this bike. We bought it for his 2nd birthday, which was probably a little too early. By the time he turned 3, however, he was tall enough to be comfortable on the bike and very interested in it. In a matter of weeks, he was zipping around the driveway on it, and now he is unstoppable. I am really amazed at how quickly and easily he’s learned how to balance on the bike. The only problem we’ve had with the bike is that the wooden ball on the end of the handlebar cracked and broke off from the bike being put down (OK, dropped) on the ground repeatedly. Customer service at Smart Gear were great about helping me replace that part. I would definitely recommend this product.
Why just for young men? Hmm…but anyway, it’s sturdy, easy to assemble, has a good range of height adjustability for a quite small child to maybe a child 6 or older if possessing shortish legs, & all edges & surfaces are well-finished- nothing sharp or uncomfortable. Nice tires, good-looking & bit more special w/the police motif. Also came with a flag that is useless, however- only fits on middle of handlebars where it’s right in front of the rider’s face. The carry handle for parents is a handy touch.
